Q. You had an incredible day today, and it started with the playoff, so let's jump in there. Talk to me about what was going through your head this morning. You had a great par save.
THIENNA HUYNH: To be honest, I was a little upset about the playoff because I thought it was going to be after our round of stroke play, but it was bright and early in the morning. When I hit that second shot, it was not good. I skulled the crap out of that one. But it was in the bunker, so I'm really happy that it landed in the bunker.
Rough here is terrible, and that's a place you don't want to be in.
I saw the two other girls chip it really close to the hole, and I knew that I had to at least make par to give myself a chance to be in, and that par putt was a slider. It was super fast, and I'm just glad it was done.
Q. What were your thoughts when you found out you'd be paired with the second seed from yesterday?
THIENNA HUYNH: I mean, I didn't really have much thought about it. I knew it was going to be fun, and I don't know, I wasn't -- it wasn't like I was super nervous, but it's not like I was super, super confident I was going to get it. I just knew I had to play my game and just trust my shots.
Q. Is that a really good feeling now knowing that you beat seed No. 2?
THIENNA HUYNH: I feel indifferent, yeah.
Q. What are your thoughts just being a recent USGA champion coming into this championship? Is there confidence there?
THIENNA HUYNH: There's confidence. There's a little bit of nervousness, just because you know that people are watching you. They're going to look at your name and see how you're doing.
I don't think it's added pressure, but I think that's just something that I think about sometimes.
Q. Speaking of names that you know, your women's four-ball partner also advanced to the next round.
THIENNA HUYNH: I saw.
Q. How does that feel?
THIENNA HUYNH: I'm happy for her. I'm always happy for her. If we end up playing against each other, I'll still be supporting her.
Q. What are your thoughts in general about the heat today?
THIENNA HUYNH: Oh, I mean, I feel fine about it just because in Georgia where I live it's the same exact thing. It gets really hot. It's really, really humid. I know a lot of people are not used to that at all. So I think I kind of have an advantage in terms of dealing with that.
Do I like it? No, it's terrible. I want to cry. But overall it's actually really not that bad, especially when you're playing. It really could be worse. But it's fine.
