Quick Quotes
Q. We're here with Jordan Thomas. Terrific week. You finished probably looks like top 5 here in the inaugural Adaptive Open. How cool is that?
JORDAN THOMAS: That's incredible. I didn't know where I stood, so that's exciting. A top 5 is huge.
Like I said, though, I was here for such a bigger reason than the golf, but it's a treat to be able to play some pretty decent golf out there.
Q. Obviously the competition came second. You've been talking about it all week. What are some of those grander takeaways from this historic week in golf and the adaptive community?
JORDAN THOMAS: I think for me it's about raising awareness of the foundation and the work that we do for the kids to get prosthetics that they can't afford. I think I've really wanted to be a part of moving adaptive golf forward. I think having the USGA behind us now, I've sort of stood on the sidelines when it comes to adaptive golf, but for sure now I think this solidifies me to really help move the game forward and I think a grow-the-game initiative that really means something.
Q. We talked about it briefly, but how rewarding has it been to share the golf course with so many other inspiring athletes?
JORDAN THOMAS: It's been an incredible honor to watch these guys and these girls play golf to the level that they do. These are unbelievable athletes. Like I said, I think yesterday, sometimes it's hard to focus because I'm so in awe of just how incredible they are as players. But then as people. Everybody here in the field this week has a story that is unbelievable, all 96, pick one. To be a part of that and amongst them is really a treat and an honor for me.
Q. Moving forward into next year in this championship, how do you think this event will continue to amplify the stories like yours?
JORDAN THOMAS: Oh, I think it gives us a tremendous platform. It shares our stories with the world in a huge way. It's like exponential growth this week.
Having this as something that's going to happen year in and year out is so massive for all of us in the field to share our stories and the work that we're doing.
