Q. John, you finished your final round here. How do you reflect on it?
JOHN PARRY: Yeah, I've enjoyed the week. A little disappointing the way I finished, but I played nice today. I played pretty solid all week, to be honest, pretty happy.
Q. Just a bit of a bogey on 17 that really killed the round at the end today, wasn't it?
JOHN PARRY: Yeah, and I hit probably the heart -- well, I'll say the heart of it -- hit a good tee shot down there and hit it in the Road Bunker, bogey at the end.
But I don't think I've ever been in a competition and it seemed hard to -- I got in a position where I couldn't even have a stance. Just trying to figure out where do I go here. It is what it is. So I'm pretty happy.
Q. Just tell us about walking up the 18th, obviously been a very special Open and big galleries and crowds out there today?
JOHN PARRY: Yeah, the atmosphere is amazing. Having your family up here and everything. Yeah, it's one of them boyhood dreams, isn't it, when you're playing up there, the grandstands are full. I've loved it.
Q. Have you been able to pick out the family as you walked up?
JOHN PARRY: Bits and bobs, when you're playing your head down, blinkers on. But you see them pop up now and again.
Q. Every Open is special, but it obviously fires you up to come back again and again?
JOHN PARRY: Exactly. And you sort of see where you are, don't you, against the best players where you need to try get a bit better at, and maybe you're not as bad as you thought. You find margins and stuff. It's very pleasing.
Q. So that gives you a lot of confidence. Obviously you drop shots there at the end, but you played really well?
JOHN PARRY: I'm sure I think you said it, but I've made a couple silly mistakes every day, but I guess that's sort of the fine margin in major golf and you need to get better at something, be smarter, it's one or the other. It gives me confidence for the rest of the year, for the season.
Q. What's coming up for you now? Are you playing Hillside?
JOHN PARRY: No, I'm not. I'm playing in Germany next week, Monday. I'm playing a challenge tournament. So quick turnaround. Get home and wash and pack and go again, back to reality.
Q. I guess it's not a comedown, but it's a different event, isn't it?
JOHN PARRY: Sometimes when I've played U.S. Opens, gone to an event after, it feels a lot easier, because I guess the stress level is a lot higher playing in these events and the margins are fine. So hopefully it will pay off, I can get well rested before then.
Q. I guess you haven't got the intense media scrutiny as well?
JOHN PARRY: Exactly. Hassling you every day. (Laughter). It would be great day. I'm looking forward to it.
