ROBERT MACINTYRE: It was good. The start, perfect wedge shot in the 1st, and that's the first bad spin I've had on this golf course in seven, eight days, I was absolutely gob-smacked with it.
But I just had to get on with it. I kind of took the reins off just went at it, and it paid off today.
Q. You were pleased with the way you came back mentally?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: You can't do anything about what's happened. I had two perfect shots down the 1st. I actually thought it was going to be a tap-in birdie, and then it ends up in the water.
You can't be too disappointed in hitting good shots and then I'm getting punished like that. It was a surprise bit of spin. But overall, it's a decent week.
Q. Two eagles in an Open, are you pleased with that?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: Aye, I was just going at it. The shot I hit on the par-5 bobbed below my feet, and I tried a bit of a hook, and it came off perfect.
But no, it's the way I play golf. If the ball's finished straight in the first couple of rounds, it's a different story as well. Hit some great shots, possessions, just had no putts or no chips.
Q. Overall thoughts on the week?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: It was good. Again, it's not a golf course that I've got great memories of. I've struggled on the links, St Andrews links, Trophys, I've struggled in Dunhills. And this week I just came out, I didn't have much of an expectation, obviously trying to win a golf tournament, but it's a golf course I just can't see scores that are getting shot. But it's courses for courses and this may just not be one for me now.
Q. You never conquered 13 but at least you came away with par.
ROBERT MACINTYRE: I don't even know where I hit it down there. It's just an absolute brutal hole. I had probably the worst tee shot I've hit in the four days in my path, and it was perfect. But, no, it's just links golf and it's firm. Just sometimes the holes, we just don't know where they go.
Q. Good finish there in a major week, good kickstart for a good run of events hopefully?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: This is four or five events in the spin I've played. I've got to work out what to do from here. But I need a break. I've played quite a lot of golf in the last week. Some's been good, some bad, but it's definitely going in the right direction.
Q. Are you playing Hillside?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: Play next week at Hillside. So take the day off tomorrow because I've been here for the last eight days. I need a bit of a break. But now just ready to go. The game's in good shape. Take a few things and go again.
Q. Great memories for Hillside, you played well there?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: That's the reason I'm playing it. It doesn't fit in the schedule perfectly. But it's a golf course I've got great memories of. It's a place I like. We'll go down there, give it our best shot.
Q. How do you see the rest of the season, schedule-wise, is it all in Europe?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: I'm not sure. That's going to be more FedEx points. I'm sure I'm in Korn Ferry Tour Finals 100 percent now.
But with everything going on in the world, obviously the alliance has been good. Next year we've got ten spots to get a PGA TOUR card that looks like it's going to fit in ahead of the Korn Ferry Tour guys. I don't know, whether it's (indiscernible). And we'll work that out.
But just for now I'm going to play next week and then see where it's at.
Q. What happens the rest of the day, you hang around, go home?
ROBERT MACINTYRE: Go pack the bags and I probably won't go home. I'll probably start the journey down to Hillside and just go, it's another week.
