Q. It's a nice finish for you there today. Different feeling than the last time you stood on the 18th, I suppose.

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Yeah, well, I think yesterday, my only thinking was just try and hit it sort of in play off the tee yesterday.

Whereas today, I played really nicely today. I still feel like I had to work for the score I had. I made a couple of mistakes and got a bit penalised. There's plenty of birdies out there if you hit your shots for sure.

Q. Did you know what you needed out there to make the cut?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Yeah, I had a pretty good idea. I made a couple of birdies and a couple of nice putts on the back nine. It gave me a couple cushion coming in, which made things a little easier.

Q. You're building so nicely throughout the week. Is that just because of the conditions, more confidence as you get more used to playing here? What is it?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Probably a little bit of both. Just sort of understanding how links golf is played a little bit and trying to minimise some of the sort of luck of the draw, even though you can't totally sort of get rid of that.

You just play a slightly different style of golf to try and regain a little bit of control.

Then just probably being a little bit more comfortable. It's my first major. It's my first time playing with a lot of guys I've idolised for years on TV. I probably feel more settled than I thought I would be already.

Q. You've had a different caddie the last couple of days as well to deal with?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: I had B.J. the first day, and he was crook as a dog yesterday and said he couldn't do it. So I had to ring one of my mates that was out here watching. He caddied yesterday, and then B.J. was back today. I think B.J. will be back tomorrow unless he gets a bit soft again on me.

Q. You birdied the last back nine here. What's your favourite part of the course? Is that the last couple of holes?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Obviously, yeah, the walk down 18 is pretty incredible. It's a very cool hole. There's so many different ways you can chase it up onto the green. Once you get around the green, it's no snack either. You need a little bit of luck, and you need to be able to have a few shots in the bag.

My favourite part is probably actually those holes in the back of the course where they all kind of cross over each other. Even though it's not always that practical, you're waiting on groups sort of walking across your fairway, it's just a really cool atmosphere at the moment.

There's so many people out there. They're sort of cheering at you from a grandstand that's 150 metres away because they can kind of see everything. So the atmosphere is incredible out there.

Q. What was the wind like out there today?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: It switched on us sort of halfway through our round. So we played our first few holes with the wind out of the right, and we played our back nine with the wind also out of the right.

It's not too strong. I think probably for the leaders, this front nine will play sort of just straight out of the left, but it's not really blowing enough to be too much of an issue I don't think.

Q. What do you hope to achieve tomorrow, and what would you be satisfied with?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Yeah, well, I'd really like to sort of just post a really low round tomorrow. I still feel like -- I didn't get off to the start I wanted to on Thursday, so it pretty much ruled me out of contending this week. But I feel like I can compete at this level, and I want to at least finish on a strong note tomorrow and sort of show to myself more than anything that I can compete with some of the best in the world.

Q. What will you be doing this afternoon when you go out? Watching Cam?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Not out on the course. I'll be going to relax probably. Maybe watch a little bit on TV. I haven't been to the Dunvegan yet this week. So I might pop in there for a quick pint. But that will be about it, I think.

Q. Do you have any family over?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Yeah, I've got like sort of eight people over here watching and getting around. Each night we've been going to dinner together. It's been incredible. Really cool week so far with them.

Q. You've played a lot in Japan, haven't you?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: This is my fifth season out there now.

Q. Obviously it's a very different course. Do you have that kind of support when you're playing in Japan? Is this different for you to have?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: Well, I don't think all my mates get as motivated to come to the Japan Tour. So, no, I'd say no, I don't have the same sort of support. I sort of feel like the crowd have got behind me a little bit as well.

It seems like a golf fan is a sucker for a 'stache. So they seem to be enjoying the 'stache out there, and a few people have been calling out my name. It feels like I have a lot of support out there.

Q. So you're going to grow a mullet as well?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: I don't know if I'll grow a full mullet. I have a little mohawk mullet going, but I'm undecided how I'll go from here with it.

Q. And what's with the 'stache?

ANTHONY QUAYLE: I was saying actually the other day that my goals at the start of this year were to win a few golf tournaments and have the roughest lid on Tour. I've won a golf tournament, and I'm probably getting close to the roughest lid, so we're doing all right.
