Q. Congratulations on your round. You must have enjoyed your round out there today.

ABRAHAM ANCER: It was a lot of fun. It could have been a really special round. I hit the ball really, really nicely.

My lag putting wasn't as good as yesterday, but I hit the ball better today. So happy with my performance. Happy with how I hit the ball. Like I said, it could have been a lot, a lot better, but it's okay.

Q. It's frustrating.

ABRAHAM ANCER: It's all right.

Q. You come off with a good score but still think it could have been better?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, well, on 9 I didn't two-putt for birdie. On 18 I didn't two-putt for birdie. On 12 I was right there, didn't get up and down for birdie. It could have been a lot better, but not complaining.

I'm happy with my score and the way I'm progressing through the week. Hopefully, I'm just saving them all for the weekend.

Q. I don't know if you've seen the look at the leaderboard, but Talor Gooch was here talking earlier and D.J. is on top and Sergio's had a really good round. All three were talking about how the LIV guys are doing really well today. They're saying that you kind of feel almost like a team or that you're like a band of brothers, kind of maybe your golf has been galvanised by the situation. Is that how you feel?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I just think there's a bunch of good players out there. I don't see it that way. I know there's a lot of talent in the guys that went to LIV. I'm not surprised or concerned about that. I feel like they're going to be up there in big events. They're big time players.

Yeah, but I mean, definitely it's a really cool camaraderie between us, I guess. And it's been fun.

Q. Do you kind of feel motivated by this, the controversy around you, to kind of want to have a win for one of you guys?

ABRAHAM ANCER: I don't know if that makes me more motivated. I'm just focused on I'm playing The Open right now. I'm not really thinking about the noise. I'm trying to not really listen about any of that and get a good game plan and play as best as possible. That's really it.

Q. If it's not you, would you like one of the LIV guys to win?

ABRAHAM ANCER: You're teeing me up, huh? Yeah, that would be cool. I think it would be really cool. But I think just let the best player win.
