Q. Matt, how would you reflect on today?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it was good. I played good. We just got poor side of the draw, some bad bounces, and just didn't make any putts.

This is a golf course that's just a little bit funky when it's playing this firm and fast. It was difficult to get to some of the pins today, and I didn't really make any putts other than a couple coming in.

Q. Six hours and 10 minutes, were you surprised with how long it took?

MATT FITZPATRICK: No, Billy warned me before. But, yeah, it's just a joke, isn't it? Like six hours, 10, this just shouldn't be happening ever in golf.

Q. Do you think it's just because of how far the balls are rolling out, the layout?

MATT FITZPATRICK: It's a bit of both, yeah. It's the way the golf course is set up. It's how firm it is. The way the golf course is designed. You're crossing over a lot, and to get better angles and better lines, you've got to hit across all the fairways.

There's nothing you can do unfortunately about it. It's just sad more than anything. It's just ridiculous.

Q. Does it make it harder to get in a rhythm?

MATT FITZPATRICK: No, I don't think so. You've just got to be prepared for it before. You've got to accept that it's going to be long rounds.

But, yeah, it's just disappointing it takes six hours to get around the golf course. That just shouldn't be happening.

Q. You're focusing on yourself, but how much of a pleasure and an honour was it to be out there with Tiger Woods at the 150th Open?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, it was great. That was about the only good thing of it taking so long is that you get extra time out there with him. Yeah, it was really cool.

Q. (Indiscernible) second round?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Do the same as I did today and hopefully make a few putts. I think I had, like, four three-putts. Need to stop those. I think I had three. Three less and 3-under par, and I'm not far off it at all. Yeah, it is what it is.
