THE MODERATOR: How does it feel to be back on Court 1 today?

ANGELIQUE KERBER: It's always a great feeling to playing on Court 1, especially, yeah, the first rounds. Yeah, I was feeling good. It was a tricky match, but it's nice to being back and that I won the first round.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. What is it about Wimbledon that brings out your best?

ANGELIQUE KERBER: You know, I mean, Wimbledon is really a special place, especially for me where I won this tournament once, playing so many times as well semifinals. Always coming back here, seeing the crowd, seeing family, faces, it feels so good to being back here.

I mean, it's always a tough tournament where you have to play your best. I don't know, I think I can play always like few percent better than in other tournaments.

Q. Could you talk about you've been on the tour for a long time now, are you as motivated as you've ever been?

ANGELIQUE KERBER: Yes, I know the tour already very well. I'm one of the older generation (smiling). But, you know, I still feel the love for the sport. I practice well. I'm healthy. This is always the most important thing.

If you can still play good tennis and being on top, it's always the motivation that gives me to practice and to perform good.
