THE MODERATOR: Jannik, great win for you today. Tell us a bit about the match.

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, I am happy about my performance today. It was a tough match against a very tough opponent. So, yeah, for me winning the first time in a main draw on grass here, it means a lot. It's a very special moment.

So hopefully can give me a lot of confidence for the next one.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. I saw you play at Roehampton a few years ago against Alex Bolt. A long match. Surprised it took a few more years to get a main draw grass win. Was there something difficult about grass or bad luck for you?

JANNIK SINNER: I think it's more about confidence and knowing the surface. In the year you don't have a huge amount of weeks where you play on grass. I never played juniors. So it's a surface where I struggle the most, for sure.

But, I mean, I try to keep working on my things, especially in Eastbourne we worked a lot. Hopefully it shows here in London.

I mean, yeah, I'm also missing one tournament which I was supposed to play in Halle. I'm very happy to be in the second round.

Q. Is the confidence about the movement mostly?

JANNIK SINNER: Yeah, everything, but mostly the movement which is completely different. Also the way you use the serve is different. I mean, you have to get used to some different conditions.

So, yeah...

Q. How did you find the surface? A bit slow?

JANNIK SINNER: I am not a grass court expert, so I don't know (smiling).

Was good. I don't know. I'm honest. I have not a lot of experience on grass courts, so I cannot give you a comparison to other courts.

I mean, here you cannot go wrong, for sure, in this place.
