Wimbledon, London, UK
Press Conference
H. TAN/S. Williams
7-5, 1-6, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: Harmony, what a debut. Tell us how you're feeling right now.
HARMONY TAN: I feel really tired now (laughter), but really happy.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. What do you think turned the match in your favor?
HARMONY TAN: I don't know because I play every ball like just, yeah, put some slice, some change, some variety on the game, and it works today.
Q. How would you describe what this means to you?
HARMONY TAN: It's a dream because, you know, I saw Serena on the TV when I was young. My coach, Nathalie Tauziat, played her 20 years ago. So, yeah, it's a big generation, yeah.
She's a legend. I mean, she won 23 Grand Slam. When you play her, I was scared. I mean, I was scared when I was on the court, but really happy to be there.
Q. What did you feel when the match ended?
HARMONY TAN: I don't know because I don't believe now (laughter). I don't believe.
Q. What did Nathalie Tauziat tell you before the match? How did she help you to prepare?
HARMONY TAN: Yeah, she just told me, like, enjoy because it's your first time in Wimbledon. You play on Centre Court against Serena. And, yeah, just enjoy the match.
Q. You said you didn't believe. When did you start believing during the match that you were the person who could win this one?
HARMONY TAN: Maybe at the end on the third just a little bit (laughter). Maybe at the super tiebreak, yeah, when it was 9-7, I can make it.
