Quick Quotes
Q. Yesterday, the weather flipped; the wind died particularly in the afternoon. Looked like you flipped it today.
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: The start definitely helps. It was an 8-iron from 200-something yards we are trying to fly about 165 yards and for it to roll within 15 feet is always a bonus.
Played well yesterday. Shot 2-over. Thought the putting was very difficult in the wind but it wasn't that it was constant. It was that it was kind of coming in and out and pretty strong breezes. As soon as you felt like you had an edge on the putting green, it would blow you off your feet.
Overall, still missed a couple short ones today, but overall definitely happy with where I'm at.
Q. The putting, is that one of the things the fans don't appreciate the difference here?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: When you're into the wind, it's really strange. There's a lot of great examples but 5 or 6, I think it's 6, 110 yards and you're trying to figure out how to hit a 140-yard shot but not too low or too high because then it will end up in the wrong place.
So I enjoy the challenge, and I've always enjoyed trying to tap the field a little bit more.
Q. More fun when you shoot 65?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: That definitely helps.
