Quick Quotes
Q. How does that feel to be Amateur Champion?
JESSICA BAKER: Incredible. Oh, my God, I can't believe it. I'm absolutely stunned but I'm just so happy. I think I really deserve this to be honest, I don't want to brag, but I worked really, really hard to get here and it's just such a satisfying feeling.
Q. You took out two big players yesterday, and to keep it going, you managed to do that over 36 holes?
JESSICA BAKER: No, absolutely. And today, I played all right actually. I didn't do anything special. Just got ahead and then kept it.
So I think it was a lot about tactics today and just keeping a cool head everything and. No, just feels surreal right now.
Q. You're down at like 500 or so in the WAGR, which surprises me given how well you played. Is this the best you've ever played?
JESSICA BAKER: Yesterday in particular was an absolutely dream day. Holed everything and hit it amazing. It all came together yesterday to give me this opportunity.
So yeah, it's been a long time coming and I'm just really proud of myself.
Q. You just made it no stroke play on the mark.
JESSICA BAKER: Holed a 25-footer to make the cut. So just to be here is absolutely incredible. Yeah, just so proud of myself.
Q. And you've got some big events to come.
JESSICA BAKER: I do. I do.
Q. How much are you looking forward to the AIG Women's Open?
JESSICA BAKER: I'm buzzing. It's something I've really wanted to do for a long time, and then means I don't have to pre-qualify which is great because that was the plan next week.
Q. Other exemptions, U.S. Open, Augusta.
JESSICA BAKER: Augusta, oh, my gosh. That's not really come to my mind yet to be honest. But it will be an incredible experience, all just great opportunities for me.
Q. How was it having your dad on the bag?
JESSICA BAKER: Absolutely amazing. I can't fault him. He does get on my nerves sometimes but he always does it for the right reasons. We just work as such a good team, and he's been a huge part of this week.
Q. Going back to the final itself, it was nip and tuck, quite a lot of bogeys, but was it difficult in the conditions?
JESSICA BAKER: Yeah, it's definitely windiest it's been this week.
So as I say, it was just about getting ahead and then just keeping that, and really it was the person that made the least mistakes today that was going to go on top. Just to sort of be steady and have a good mindset and keep cool, as well, was huge.
Q. And a word for your teammates back in Florida?
JESSICA BAKER: Oh, I miss you guys so much. I'm so happy with everyone that supported me. I had so many messages yesterday from everyone, and it's just been amazing, and, yeah, on top of the world.
