Q. I know that going to the NBA is hard to resist but curious, was it a tougher decision to leave Wisconsin? It's such a great college town. Wondering if that crossed your mind to stick around a little longer?

JOHNNY DAVIS: A little bit. I mean, it's always nice to stay where I'm comfortable at in college, but I just think the opportunity that I have now and that I was given due to the way I played this past year, I don't think there was any chance I could have stayed.

Q. What's the first thing you're going to buy with an NBA paycheck, and who are you looking forward to playing against?

JOHNNY DAVIS: I'll probably buy a car with my first paycheck. I'm looking forward to playing against anybody in the league. They are there for a reason.

Q. There are obviously a lot of rumors going on right now with the Wizards, but at the moment they do have Bradley Beal. If you play with him and learn under him, what are the things you look to learn the most from?

JOHNNY DAVIS: Basically anything. He's a really good player. I've watched him play for quite some time now, especially the way he scores the basketball. Watching him play with pace and shoot the ball is almost like looking at a work of art.

Q. Yesterday we talked about how it would feel when you heard your name called today. So how did it feel?

JOHNNY DAVIS: My insides just lit up, you know. I was very excited for that moment. I had been waiting for a long time, and more importantly, I'm really happy that my parents and my family are here to celebrate it with me.
