Quick Quotes
Q. Give us some thoughts on your round and how you thought it went?
HARRIET LYNCH: It was pretty steady all around. We was just really focussing on what spots to hit it and where to land it and watching the wind.
But overall, I was really pleased with my performance. I've been playing well coming into it and had a bit of an injury, so I wasn't sure how today was going to go, but overall, pretty pleased.
Q. Off to a good start with an early birdie. Talk us through that?
HARRIET LYNCH: It was definitely a good way to start it for sure. I think sinking that putt on the first really helped me get into my rhythm, and then I had a couple of looks on par 5s for eagles and tap-in birdies. So I think that just really set the pace off from there.
Q. And a few birdies later on in the round, how important was that?
HARRIET LYNCH: Yeah, rhythm for me is a massive key in playing well. Definitely like just tap-in birdies, it makes it a lot easier, so yeah.
Q. And the conditions were a bit windier earlier on. How did you cope with that?
HARRIET LYNCH: Not trying to swing to hard when it was into the wind, and obviously trying to calculate when it was downwind not to hit too much club; the landing spots were key.
But yeah, I mean, playing in wind, I feel like I've done a lot so far this summer. We played up at St Andrews, so that helped.
Q. How important is it to get off to such a good start if the first round of stroke play?
HARRIET LYNCH: It helps for sure. I'm kind of like speechless right now but it just helps for sure. Going into tomorrow, it can be a bit calmer but still going to put my foot on the gas and not take it off.
