Quick Quotes
Q. Another two wins for you today. You must be happy with your day's work?
LUDVIG ABERG: For sure. This is what you came for. This is what you want to get out with, wins. I was lucky enough to do that. I played some good golf. Matthew played some good golf. The game we had this morning was pretty good, too. Made it to the 19th hole. A lot of golf, long day but looking forward to tomorrow.
Q. What was it like playing against your Swedish teammate this morning?
LUDVIG ABERG: It was a little weird. We don't know each other that well as you may think but he's a great guy. You don't want to be too rude but you also still want to win. It's a little weird dynamic but I think we did a pretty good job of that.
Q. Looking at your match this afternoon, what was the highlight for you?
LUDVIG ABERG: I made probably one of the top up-and-downs of my life today. On 7, the par 5, I hit my third shot in the bunker, left. And I was standing on my knees and I was like, I'm really happy if I make a 6 from here, and I ended up hitting it to a couple feet and made the putt. That was I think a little bit of a change in momentum for us and I ended up making birdie on the next and that gave me some cushion.
Q. When you're making shots like that, is that what gives you the momentum, and you feed off that for the rest of the match?
LUDVIG ABERG: For sure. Match play is such a different dynamic compared to stroke play where you -- it switches, you smell blood, you don't smell blood, that kind of stuff.
I was lucky enough to have a little bit of a cushion heading into the last couple holes but Matthew still made it pretty interesting. Yeah, it was fun.
Q. Of course you've had Peter Hanson out with the Swedish golf team all week, but he actually caddied for you. Saying you've having a Ryder Cup player caddie for you, is that worth bragging rights?
LUDVIG ABERG: He did. That was his first caddie assignment since '98, he said, when he caddied for his wife. I guess I'm a little blessed to have him carry my bag. Just having him around is great for us.
Q. The Amateur Champion, a lot of rewards on offer for them, the biggest being start in the 150th Open. Do you think about that? Do you dare to start dreaming?
LUDVIG ABERG: Not really, there's so much golf left to be played. Tomorrow is another 36-hole day. We have two rounds and on a course like this, you can't really get ahead of yourself. You're going to be looking after shot after shot. If you ends up winning your match, great, but otherwise I've had a great week so far.
Q. Of course we had some really nice crowds out following you today. Is it exciting to be playing in front of people.
LUDVIG ABERG: It's fun. Everyone is treating you nice. I feel very welcomed. I feel very honoured to be here and it's just fun.
