Quick Quotes
Q. Max, another two wins for you today. That's a nice day's work?
MAX CHARLES: It was good. I was a bit nervous going into it but yeah, the game fell into place and it was fun out there. There was no wind, so the course played a bit different to the past week. But yeah, I played solid and managed to get two wins.
Q. Nervous? What was that for? Was it match-play nerves or being this far in a championship?
MAX CHARLES: A bit of both. I guess match play, you don't really know what's going to happen. It's just whoever is good on the day really. It's completely different to stroke play.
All you can really do is take it one hole at a time and that's what I did and managed to get two wins, so that felt pretty good.
Q. Caolan Rafferty who you played in the second match today, he's obviously quite an experienced match player. He played on the Walker Cup Team and things like that. Quite a big name to have knocked out of the championship here. Do you feel like that makes you one to watch over the coming days?
MAX CHARLES: Possibly. I glad I didn't know that before I played him.
Yeah, it's been, like I said, my game is in a good spot at the moment, and so all I can do is keep trusting it. Pretty happy with how it's going.
Q. Still a couple of days to go and still a few matches away from crowning The Amateur Champion, but there's a lot of opportunities on offer for the winner including a start at the 150th Open at St Andrews. Is it too early to start dreaming?
MAX CHARLES: Look, I've made it a long way but there's still a long way to go. All I can do is really take it one day at a time and see what happens. Like I said I'll just keep playing the golf that I am, and hopefully that ends in a good result.
