Quick Quotes
Q. Very well-played today, convincing win for you. How are you feeling?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, really great. Thank you.
Q. Talk to us about the match and its stand-out moments for you?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, hitting the ball really well and the greens were rolling really good and just made a few putts, keeping the ball in play. Just playing decent golf, yeah.
Q. Your thoughts at Royal Lytham and St Annes?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, I don't think I've played at a better course. Really tough with all the bunkers and the layout is perfect. I can't really ask for more.
Q. Have you played in the amateur before?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: First time. First time in the U.K. Really excited to keep going.
Q. First time in the U.K., first time playing links golf then. So you must have worked it out quite nicely in your practise rounds or what's the secret been for you there?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Well it took a little bit of time but coming really nicely, and around the greens, mostly pretty difficult picking the right shot but yeah, coming around nicely, yeah.
Q. You played with Monty Scowsill, who obviously finished runner-up in The Amateur last year. Seeing you had drawn him in your first match, were there any nerves?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Just try to play my normal game and put a decent score on and hope for the best and play golf.
Q. It was certainly a convincing win, and obviously the prizes on offer for The Amateur Champion are vast, including playing the 150th Open at St Andrews, you're only one match down but do you stair to start dreaming?
ALDRICH POTGIETER: Yeah, look forward to playing the next match and taking it one step at a time. Look forward to it.
