Quick Quotes
Q. Bit of extra pressure, No. 1 seed, so you got the job done?
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, it is a bit of past history with the No. 1 seed getting knocked out in this round. I played very nicely today but I did let a few things go toward the end. Calum made some good putts coming down the stretch. Very happy with the win today.
Q. Probably tough playing a home club member.
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, starting the day, there was a lot of people walking with us and I knew most of them were walking and supporting him. Yeah, it was nice to have a bit of a crowd out there. So keeping things a bit exciting.
Q. But you took the form that you showed the first couple of days again into today, I'm assuming?
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, I did play nicely and some good shots meant some nice putts. Like I said, there were a few shots coming down the stretch that I did let go but all in all for the day, I'm pretty happy with.
Q. And South African support helped?
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, definitely having these boys, it's always nice to see these faces coming down the last hole, settle things a bit. But yeah, it's great to have these guys here.
Q. And got a bit tight there, he obviously had a great chance for birdie to take it to extra holes but just missed. A bit of relief as well?
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, definitely. Gave it a bit of a go there. I thought I hit it a bit soft. Yeah, he played nicely throughout the day, so great.
Q. Last 32, we started at 288 and now we're down to 32. Do you start dreaming a little bit now?
JONATHAN BROOMHEAD: Yeah, I think you can. I think the dream's always there. You can never really let it fade. Out here, I think it's coming towards the more serious part of the tournaments coming down for the last few matches. But just trying to get things going and keep it going for the rest of the week.
