Golden State Warriors
Game 5: Postgame
Warriors 104, Celtics 94
Q. Talking to Gary prior to this game, and he said the word of the day was energy. For you, what was your energy like going into the game, how did you start and how did you finish?
JORDAN POOLE: I feel like we had good energy, came out with a lot of fight. Energy in Chase was good. We were able to feed off that and had a big win.
Q. What is it about those moments that you're able to rise to the occasion and hit those clutch threes, and do you feel like you've gotten more comfortable as the series has gone on?
JORDAN POOLE: Yeah, we have five games under our belt now, so seeing some coverages and getting more used to how they guard, so getting more comfortable as the series gets on, and as for the shots, end of shot clock or ends of quarters, I always want those and my teammates look for me on those. The sliders kind of go up as the clock goes down. Continue to be aggressive and look for my shot and just be the moment, I guess.
Q. The second unit outscored Boston coming into that second quarter and then into that fourth quarter. How important is that for you guys, when Steph sits to get that rest, and the second unit can extend out leads like that?
JORDAN POOLE: To be able to go out there and be aggressive, make plays. The coaching staff is kind of giving me the keys to go out there and be extremely aggressive and hunt my shot.
People stepped up today and people came, our teammates came to play on both sides of the ball, and tremendous win. Tremendous team effort. Got a big win tonight.
Q. After you rebounded from the third quarter run Boston made, did you see them unraveling a little bit? You and Marcus Smart had a little thing going on. Could you see them mentally starting to lose their poise?
JORDAN POOLE: Emotions are high, especially when games matter like this. I mean, I guess that's just how it goes. We were able to get some momentum, and we were at home, and that did something to the other team. Must have worked. We were able to get a win.
Q. How is the mood in the locker room knowing you are one win away from a championship?
JORDAN POOLE: The same how we have been all series. We're one game closer but we still have got another 48 to go out there and play. Stay locked in. Stay extremely focused and look at our adjustments and find ways to get better. We have to go get a big one on the road, and we feel like we are fully capable of that, but the job is not done yet obviously, we have one more we want to win.
