NBA FINALS: CELTICS VS. WARRIORS

June 12, 2022

Daniel Theis

Boston Celtics

Practice Day

Q. How is your body holding up with the travel and potentially two more cross-country flights to deal with?

DANIEL THEIS: It's good that we have two days in between games with traveling, that helps a lot. But obviously everybody, each team is feeling the flights and like the time difference a little bit.

Q. Do you notice a big difference with your body on game day during this series, as opposed to the Eastern Conference Finals when you're playing every other day?

DANIEL THEIS: No, I don't think so. It's just because it's such a great reason to fly cross-country, being part of an NBA Finals. I don't think that anybody is feeling -- I think after the last series, you feel it, but after the season is over, everybody is going to crash.

Right now I think everybody is fine.

Q. Do you have a sense of how Robert is feeling from day-to-day, especially after he sort of came down awkwardly the other night on that knee?

DANIEL THEIS: I think his knee is holding up like it's been in the playoffs. He had a great last game. His impact he had in the last game, especially on the rebounding side and blocking shots, it's a huge difference for us as a team. So we need him out there to help on the defensive end and on the offensive end, too.

Q. With his status being uncertain from game-to-game, are you preparing like you have the potential to play significant minutes every game and then wait to see how things go? What's your mindset and how are you approaching that?

DANIEL THEIS: I prepare myself every game the same. I have a routine over the years. I do it every time, no matter if I'm playing or not. Then also, playoffs are about adjustments, too. So as a player, sometimes you don't play games. The next time, it's possible you play a lot of minutes, so it's like for me, it's like I prepare every game. Like I'm playing a lot.

And for us, it doesn't matter who is out there. We want to win.
