Quick Quotes
Q. First off I'll start with your round today because it was a little up and down, but that eagle on 18 certainly set some things in motion. Just take me through what day two was like here at ShopRite.
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. I absolutely would like to take some of those bogeys back, but overall I'm really happy with how my game feels. Hopefully can just clean up the scorecard a little bit tomorrow.
But, no, I like what I'm seeing, and at least it's fun to make quite a few birdies and an eagle, too.
Q. The 18th is the Aon Risk Reward Challenge hole this week. What have you seen in it and what has been your strategy this week as you come across this unique hole? It's very unique to this course as well.
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah, it all depends on the wind. You know, it's very reachable I would say for everyone if it's not windy. As soon as the wind picks up, then you need to hit a good tee shot and good second shot to be able to get there.
Luckily both yesterday and today hit really good drives, so it was for sure reachable. Yesterday I hit it on and two-putted for birdie. Then just short of the green today and chipped it in.
But, yeah, it always depends on the wind there.
Q. A major champion yourself, just across the LPGA and LET Tours the rise of Swedish golfers I feel like is something we're seeing constantly at the top of leaderboard. Right now Linn Grant holding a two-shot lead at the Scandinavian Mixed at Annika and Henrik's event.
Have you met Linn before? Have you talked with her? Has she ever come to you about anything or any kind of advice?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah, Linn and I have chatted a little bit at the start of this year, and we for sure have seen each other in the past. Linn and her kind of whole generation, we've been on the look out for them for years now.
Between her, Maja Stark, Ingrid Lindblad, Frida Kinhult is out here; had a great day yesterday. I mean, they have all grown up playing against each other from a young age and it's going to be really exciting to see what that next generation can do.
They were a lot better than I was at their age. And Linn, I really like her game and her -- kind of her head, too. She's mentally strong, and I'll for sure be rooting to are her tomorrow.
Q. What's it like for that event over in Sweden? I know it's a new format, but it's something that's really taken off on the LET and also the European Tour.
PERNILLA LINDBERG: Yeah, unfortunately I haven't been able to attend the event yet, but I think it's a really cool format, and it looks like they have set up the course well where you have a mix of both guys and girls up there on the leaderboard, which is really fun.
And from everyone who I talked to last year who played it, they said it was a great event. I know that golf course is really good course, too, so it's fun to see kind of the publicity the event is getting.
It's a neat, cool, and different format, that's for sure.
Q. Last week were you able to talk with Ingrid at all?
PERNILLA LINDBERG: We just saw each other a little bit at the start of the week and then our tee times were very opposite the rest of the week. I wasn't surprised how well she was playing. She is such a killer out there. Yeah, I was happy to see her play so well the whole week.
Yeah, I think kind of that whole next generation, and as I see with players from other countries too, they're not scared and they're coming out to win at a young age.
