THE MODERATOR: Louise, thanks for coming in to join us. Obviously you had a good result this morning but a more challenging afternoon. Can you sum up how you feel after today's play?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Obviously we're disappointed about the afternoon results, but we weren't in this position last year. We're in the Americans' position; we were trailing behind and then the Americans came back at us. We're not feeling too disheartened and we're looking for a big day tomorrow and hopefully come back and make a good fight for the singles on Sunday.

Q. How did you find it went this afternoon? Obviously foursomes is a tricky format, but it's important to get off to a fast start, but it's sometimes difficult once you fall behind.

LOUISE DUNCAN: Yeah, that's kind of what happened in mine and Hannah's game. We had a few poor holes at the start and we couldn't really get that back, and the Americans were solid, as usual. I think you really need to play some good golf, and pars are good but birdies are even better, and we just unfortunately didn't have any.

I obviously didn't see the other two games, but I'm pretty sure it would be fairly similar.

But no, it was a big learning from today, and yeah, I think we'll be back better tomorrow really.

Q. There's still a good spirit amongst the team. Do you think you can bounce back? I'm sure with Elaine giving you a pep talk tonight there's a lot to play for tomorrow, as well?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Yeah, 100 percent. We're not out of this yet. I think we're going to come out fighting tomorrow and we're going to play some good golf and we're going to hole some putts.

Q. Obviously the Americans bounced back from a bit of a deficit last year. It shows that it can be done. Does that give you some inspiration and some motivation to think this is possible?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Yeah, a hundred percent. We said that in our talk there. We said, well, this happened to us last year and the tables were flipped pretty quickly. All it takes is a few putts to drop and a couple games won, momentum is on our side, which is hopefully what we're going to get tomorrow.

But we're all playing good golf, it's just coming down to the greens, and we've had a few lip-outs and a few sitting on the edge or whatever, so we're hoping that our luck changes tomorrow.

Q. After such a stellar tournament at Carnoustie last year, did you know for sure you were going to be here? Was there a point where you thought you might turn pro?

LOUISE DUNCAN: No, I always knew I was going to be here. I had invites to ride out from British Am last year, so I knew I was going to be playing U.S. Open last week, and I kind of hoped for a pick for the Curtis Cup this year because it's quite a unique format in terms of having two Curtis Cups so close together. I would have never thought I'd play two Curtis Cups, and to even have played one was a big achievement for me. To be here this week, yeah, I would not have turned pro before it.

Q. When everybody came into the huddle at the end of the day, what was the message?

LOUISE DUNCAN: Just to keep our chins up, stay positive, stay patient, and just go out and enjoy ourselves and do what we do best. We're all here for a reason, and we know that we can do it, and we'll hopefully flip the tables tomorrow.
