Quick Quotes
Q. Stephanie, so got off to a tough start with two bogeys. Back on track with a birdie on 12.
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Yeah.
Q. How did that help you going forward?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Yeah, I mean, that was kind of big just to hit -- honestly, birdie or not, but just hitting a solid iron shot after hitting some bad ones to start was a nice feeling.
So from there I just played pretty solid golf. It's tricky and it's tough, especially when you get over par and you're trying to fight back. You kind of go the other way because you're trying to make -- you kind of make unforced errors, so just one of those golf courses.
Q. And you had a great finish. Birdied two of the last eight holes. That's the front eight, so you're going to start on that tomorrow. How does that give you confidence going into the next round?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Yeah, be nice to get a good start. Obviously, I mean, I didn't being look at the leaderboards out there today. I was kind of shocked that it was tied 40 something 1-over, so it's playing tough and the wind was a little tricky.
Be nice to get out in the morning and start on the easier side and hopefully I can get something rolling.
Q. Made your professional debut here back in 2014.
STEPHANIE MEADOW: Uh-huh, yeah.
Q. How does it feel to be back playing in a U.S. Women's Open here?
STEPHANIE MEADOW: It's great. Brings back a lot of the great memories. It's hard to believe it was that many years ago. So much has happened since then, but still seems like it was yesterday.
So I love this area. I used to live in South Carolina so definitely fond memories.
