THE MODERATOR: Just a reaction right after that match. Your opponent didn't give you a lot of free points, but sometimes there were flashes here and there, and the crowd believed in you, but it didn't work out in the end.

HUGO GASTON: Well, it was very complicated match. I'm really disappointed. I would have liked to do better, of course, but I will continue to use it for the future hopefully.

I was a bit annoyed because I know I could have done better. Maybe it would have been difficult to win, but, you know, I could have had a better result. That's part of sport.

It hurts, but I'm going to have to work with that loss, and going to use it with my team for the future.

THE MODERATOR: Questions in French.

Q. We get the impression that you broke him right away, and then you had a hard time getting used to the wind. Did it bother you? Did it get into your head, or was it something else?

HUGO GASTON: It was a combination of everything. There was a little bit of wind, but he adapted really well, and I usually adapt well but I had a hard time that time.

I had a hard time moving, too. I should have won several points in a row so I could get going. But apart from that first game, I didn't play the way I wanted to.

I just have to congratulate him for what he did.

Q. Apparently you know each other really well. You have played doubles together. Were you surprised by his game? What issues did you face tonight?

HUGO GASTON: Well, he hits the ball really hard. He makes very few unforced errors. He serves really well. He has many shots in his racquet. He uses dropshots and he's got very good hands, and I tried to make him move. He just seized all the opportunities tonight.

Q. At a moment you tried to get the support from the crowd. Even then he answered with a lot of temperament, and the energy from the crowd didn't help you change or switch momentum.

HUGO GASTON: Well, you know, the audience did their max, and unfortunately I couldn't use that. I'm a bit disappointed for that too because the crowd supported me until the very end, and I didn't build momentum. But the crowd was fantastic from beginning to end. It was really nice to play in front of such a crowd, despite the loss.
