Q. All right, Nick, another good round, but can you start off with walking us through the 18th hole?

NICK HARDY: Yeah, I mean I hit a drive a little right, but I hit it pretty hard across the cart path. I was on kind of a baseball swing lie, and kind of sketchy shot. I hit 7-iron hoping for a jumper and it jumped and it was perfect.

Landed just short of the pin and rolled to the back fringe. I had a really fast putt. I was just trying to lag it down there and it happened to go in.

Q. First tournament back in a little bit for you. Is everything kind of clicking for you? Feeling 100%?

NICK HARDY: I think it's just my focus. Really proud of my focus so far. If I can continue that I think good things will happen.

Q. I think today is probably the biggest crowd that was following you so far. Probably expecting much, much more tomorrow. What's your phone been like the last couple days? Blowing up, a lot of support?

NICK HARDY: No, not really. I haven't done crap yet. The tournament is not over, so I still have a lot of work to do tomorrow.

Q. Is that the mentality, too? It's never done until the final round finishes up? Never be complacent?

NICK HARDY: Yeah, it's like you're not going to go congratulate Kobe Bryant or LeBron James after the third quarter of a basketball game. We got a lot of game left, so got to keep going.

Q. So I learned from some of the local news about the 2017 I think Illinois team that you were on, especially you and Dylan Meyer leading that group and then you had Michael Feagles come up under you. Just talk to me about that season specifically?

NICK HARDY: Yeah, 2017 one was special because it was the national championship was at Rich Harvest Farms and we had a big lineup following at Rich Harvest, which was really awesome. We played well. We were a young team and no seniors.

We played really well at the national championship and lost to won eventual champion that year, Oklahoma. We had a good team and a young team. We wish we won it, but we had a fun kind of end to that season.

Q. What about the dynamic between and you Dylan and Michael and all being out here now?

NICK HARDY: Yeah, we're real good buddies. We talk all the time kind of group texts, group chat. We support each other. Still feel like teammates out here. Give each other thumbs up across the fairway and stuff.

It's special.
