Shadow Creek
Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Gemma Dryburgh coming off her round of 16 victory. Played 22 holes. Do you think you made it a little hard for yourself there in the end? The back nine has been playing really hard today it seems.
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I think I was 3-up at one point and then she called me back and she made birdie on the 18th hole. So amazing golf from both of us.
So, yeah, I was hoping to get done earlier, but I'm glad to get it done. At least it was only four more extra holes. I thought we were going to go even more.
Q. I see looking at your scorecard you sort of favor these Par-5. Have you been doing really well on those, do you feel?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, it's been going well. I've been kind of -- the strategy has been good I think. So, yeah, I think it's been going well on those holes so hopefully I can keep that going this afternoon.
Q. And with a course like this, like Shadow Creek, and playing in match play, how important are just pars?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Really important, yeah. Yeah, you can win with pars sometimes, so, yeah, there are some really tough holes out there, just managing where to hit the ball and managing your misses as well.
So like you said, like pars are always good as well.
Q. Mentally how are you going to prepare for your next round coming up within the hour after a lot of holes?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, I don't have long. Just get some lunch, see where the pins are as well, maybe a bit of stretching.
Yeah, probably won't have time for too much to kind of think about anything, so just kind of go with the flow.
Q. And were you happy to have an early start today?
GEMMA DRYBURGH: Yeah, nice to get out before the heat. I'm assuming this afternoon will be hotter. Have to get the sun cream on again.
