Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Emma Talley after her 5&3 victory over Lauren Stephenson. We talked a little yesterday about how excited you were to play with Lauren; you both are Alabama girls. Was it everything you expected it to be, as competitive as you wanted?
EMMA TALLEY: Yeah, we chatted the whole day. It was kind of slow out there so we had a lot time to talk about the past, the future, and everything that's going on.
So it was a good day.
Q. And I know you guys are friends, but how good does it feel to get that win over her and advance without a playoff?
EMMA TALLEY: Yeah, it's so nice. I have been playing some really good golf and it paid off thank goodness at the end; excited for the next couple days.
Q. You went 1-up right off the bat and never really relinquished it. What was the mentality going in to have such a great start?
EMMA TALLEY: Yeah, I think the same thing as every day. I think every hole is a new hole.
You never know in match play when it can flip, so you have to keep the gas pedal down and just keep going and fighting because you never know when it's going to turn.
So same mentality I had the last couple days of just keeping my foot down and trying to win every single hole.
Q. By my count there is five or six of you Americans under the age of 30 who have no tour victories that have made it to the round of 16.
EMMA TALLEY: Yeah.
Q. Does that say anything about the depth of U.S. golf at this point?
EMMA TALLEY: Yeah, and I would ask you who are those five, because I think you would be pretty shocked at who they are. I just saw the scores and there is a lot of players that you would have thought would've made it through and didn't.
So it's an exciting time. We have all worked really hard to get in this spot, and hopefully it just continues.
