Golden State Warriors
Game 4: Postgame
Mavericks 119, Warriors 109.
Q. What do you think were the main defensive issues tonight that led to their 20 threes?
JORDAN POOLE: They were moving the ball really well tonight and they made a lot of their open threes. They got going early. Once they got a rhythm going, it was hard to stop.
Q. What did happen in the fourth quarter when the other guys all got out there, was the ball moving better?
JORDAN POOLE: Just playing hard, fight till the end and see what happens.
Q. What did you see in the second quarter when you were on the court with Moses, Jonathan, Kevon, Klay, what did you see early in that second quarter?
JORDAN POOLE: In terms of what? Just like the lineup?
Q. Yeah, the pros and cons of that lineup.
JORDAN POOLE: JK is an athletic player. Loon is our force inside. Just tried to get the ball moving. Tried to make plays on the back side. Yeah.
Q. Obviously the news of the mass shooting down at the Uvalde Elementary School was devastating but how much did that weigh on you guys during the game?
JORDAN POOLE: We send our condolences, obviously, to the families. I think Steve, Coach said it best earlier today. I know you guys heard what he said.
I don't really know. I don't have -- I don't know, it's sick, to be honest. I don't know. Steve said it best.
Q. You mentioned -- did you see it on your phone? Were people talking about it and it got attention to it when you saw it?
JORDAN POOLE: (Nodding yes).
Q. In the locker room was it being talked about?
JORDAN POOLE: (Shaking head no).
Q. Did you feel like finishing it would have been a tough hurdle?
JORDAN POOLE: I don't know, it's a unique situation. We cut it to eight after being down 20. I mean, Coach decided to put the starters in. Give it our best shot.
I don't know, we just fought all the way to the end. That's all you can really ask for against a good team. We have another chance in a couple days.
Q. You were in foul trouble most of the night. What do you think was kind of the issue there tonight?
JORDAN POOLE: Can't play too aggressive on the ball. Can't play too aggressive, make sure you show your hands. I don't know.
Q. Have you ever had a rain delay in a basketball game?
JORDAN POOLE: I think that's a first. I think that's a first.
Q. How much do you appreciate just having a coach who is willing to talk about more than just basketball? He's willing to address issues in the world and use his platform.
JORDAN POOLE: It's fantastic, being able to voice his opinion, and obviously his opinion holds a lot of weight and a lot of people see it. It's good to know that he's caught up-to-date with everything and he makes sure that he'll mention it at the team meeting, and he's up-to-date with all the information in the real world. So it's cool to be a part of.
