Press Conference
A. ZVEREV/S. Ofner
6-2, 6-4, 6-4
THE MODERATOR: How pleased were you with your first round here in Roland Garros?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah, very.
I don't know why actually you're here, because Netflix is not following me around this week. Usually you just do the players that are doing Netflix (smiling).
There is going to be about two episodes just of him. I'm looking forward to that.
Does that answer your question?
THE MODERATOR: Questions?
Q. It's good to see you smiling, Sascha. What have you learnt most about yourself as a person in the last 12 months since you were in the semifinal at Roland Garros last year?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Well, you grow. You grow up in a way.
I think each year you understand more and more what it takes to be pro tennis players, that there are difficulties on the court, that there are difficulties in any job that you do.
But I think generally speaking, I get older, I'm 25 years old now. I'm not the young guy that Alcaraz is or some of the other guys are anymore. I think as any other person as well, just taking tennis away, you just get more life experience.
Q. If you could go back and speak to the young Sascha Zverev when he was just coming into the sport, what advice would you give him now that you have your experience?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: I wouldn't, because I think everything happens for a reason. Everything that happens on the court, everything that happens outside the court, it all happens for a reason.
I think we all grow with it, we all mature with it, we all learn from it, as well.
If you don't learn from it, you're an idiot. I would like to think I'm not there yet to call myself that. Everybody has to figure it out for themselves.
I think in my case, I have to, as well.
