Flash Quotes
Q. Take us through the week. What was good, what was not so good.?
TALOR GOOCH: This week was about -- it was the definition of golf. The first three days, I hit it great and really didn't get much out of my game. Today I hit it not very good at all and had best round of the week.
So major championship weeks are tough and they are a grind, and you've just got to be on your game and when you're not, you've got to have days like this. You know, that was a good way to end it and I just wish yesterday we could have gotten more out of the quality of play that I had.
Q. Step by step, you're becoming a major player and you have to plan around the majors and learn from the majors, so what did you learn this week? What's going to help you for the next two?
TALOR GOOCH: Yeah, it's just getting more and more comfortable in that position and knowing that my game, I can compete at the highest level. So there's no way to simulate that. You just have to do it, and the more that I do it, just the more comfortable you are, and that just breeds confidence.
Q. You holed out from a bunker, was as that on 3? What happened there?
TALOR GOOCH: Yeah, I just had a perfect lie and it was one of those bunker shots that you just walk into thinking, this one could go in. And so it came out nice and it just went right in. Those are always, you know, boosts to the round, to say the least.
Q. The fan support, did it last all four rounds and did you feel it out there today?
TALOR GOOCH: Yeah, absolutely. Bernd, who I was playing with today, was like, you know, "I wonder how the crowds will be with Tiger not playing today."
I said, "Hey, this is Oklahoma, we are still going to be out heavy this day." It was good all week and they capped it off today. That was awesome.
Q. How did you enjoy the week overall?
TALOR GOOCH: It was as good as I could imagine.
Q. After five years now, do you feel like closing in, within your grasp, the game is there?
TALOR GOOCH: The more and more you play, the more comfortable you get and I'm continuing to prove to myself that my game can compete with the best of the best at the best venues at the highest level. It's just growing with confidence and just need to continue to, as my buddies say, keep getting in traffic, eventually we'll hit.
