Q. With a score like that you can really make a move today, can't you.
CHRIS KIRK: Yeah, it's interesting looking back at my round. I feel like I played so great all day and had a lot in that 8-, 10-, 12-foot range, chances for birdie, and didn't make any of them. It was a really great ball-striking day.
Then that one on 17 was probably the hardest putt I had all day, up and over, breaking hard to the right and downhill at the end, and of course that one goes in. I was more than elated for sure. Kind of went to my knees a little bit because I thought it stopped short.
Yeah, I said from the first time I played this place on Monday, it was immediately top 10 if not top 5 one of my favorite golf courses. I love Colonial so much, and this is just like kind of a big-boy version of Colonial. It's longer, wider. But a really similar style of golf. You'd better drive it straight, and your short game better be good.
That's probably my two biggest strengths.
Q. What did you find the biggest part of the test today, was the most challenging part of what the course presented?
CHRIS KIRK: Just staying patient, like any tournament on a difficult golf course, any major championship, anything. It's interesting, I've never -- I used to kind of think of myself as somebody who could go and take it deep and win the birdie-fest tournaments, but now I've had my three top 10s this year have been Honda, Bay Hill and.
Here. Apparently as I get older I'm getting better at hard golf courses. I don't know, I won't read into it too much. But just really happy with the week and loved it here in Tulsa.
Q. A week like this, what does it did for you going forward, having such a nice result at a major?
CHRIS KIRK: You know, I don't really know. I'll have to kind of see, process that and see. I've felt like my game was not far away from being really good.
But I think to be honest with you, I'm going to show up at Colonial next Tuesday and try to do my best. I'm not someone who really looks to the future a whole lot. I think that I've always been that way, but in the last few years of my life, I've been even more so that way. I just want to focus on doing the best I can with what I've got in front of me today.
Happy with how I finished up today, and try to go have a good day tomorrow.
