Press Conference
THE MODERATOR: How do you feel being back in Paris?
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: I'm very excited to be back in Paris. You know, I have always loved and had fun here, especially playing on clay. I'm having fun, and the staff, the players, the environment, I feel like it's very positive.
I don't feel anything negative. That's important.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English?
Q. I just wanted to ask you if you are aware of the points situation at Wimbledon.
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: Uh-huh.
Q. And if players have been talking about it and what your view is on that.
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: Well, unfortunately, I'm not aware. I don't have enough information to give an opinion.
It's a complicated situation that we are all in, and hopefully within the coming days we will have more information, all the players will have more information, and we can make a better opinion and decisions with it.
THE MODERATOR: French questions?
Q. The big conference room. Obviously you're being requested quite a lot. What does it mean about your performance and the improvements since the US Open?
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: Well, I'm very happy to be here to have this opportunity of talking to you. For me, it's a moment of learning, a time to learn, a time to grow as a person, trying to talk to you to learn how to behave.
It's a great opportunity for me, and I hope I develop well and I play well on the court.
Q. It seems you like to play in front of a lot of public that is very animated. Tomorrow you're playing against one of the French favorites. I guess it will be important for you, because they are going to be supportive.
LEYLAH FERNANDEZ: I know it's going to be a good match, a very difficult match. She's a very good player. She's had good results here in Roland Garros, so it won't be easy.
The only thing I will try to do will be to play well, to behave well on the court, and to have fun in front of the public.
