Miami Heat
Game 2: Postgame
Boston Celtics 127, Miami Heat 102
Q. Bam, players often talk about you throw one away, moving forward, it's still first team to four victories. Is that easier said than done to just move past something like this?
BAM ADEBAYO: No. They came out and hit us in the mouth. We don't know how to respond.
Q. What was their switching able to do? What effect did it have on your offense?
GABE VINCENT: I think we changed the way we played. Obviously, they are a very effective defensive team. They flattened us out. The ball got stagnant. We didn't move it as much and we saw the result of that when they went on their run.
Q. For either of you guys, Marcus Smart on the stat sheet had a huge night but just what was his impact beyond the numbers to have him back in the game?
GABE VINCENT: I think he gave them a lot of confidence. He gave them a lot of confidence. Obviously, defensively he did what he did. He packed the paint. He made some plays offensively, and as the game went on, he got more comfortable and more and more comfortable and started making some shots. You saw him fill it up in the second half.
Q. For both Gabe and Bam, because the team has played well all postseason, does that make it easier to have confidence even after a lopsided home loss?
GABE VINCENT: We lost a game in the playoffs before. I mean, it's a loss, whether you lose by one or by 20. It's recoup, go back to the drawing board and get ready for Game 3.
BAM ADEBAYO: Piggyback on what he said. It's first to four. I mean, obviously we've got to go back and watch film and see what we did wrong, see the mistakes we made and how we can bounce back.
