Flash Quotes
JOHN DEVER: Welcome back to the 2022 PGA Championship here at Southern Hills crew chief. We're joined by K.H. Lee. K.H. opened with a 1-under par 69 today. You may not have won the golf tournament today, may not have lost it, but you did put forth a nice first round in a solid position. That has to make you feel good tonight, doesn't it.
K.H. LEE: That's right. Last week was a very happy time for me and my family, and hopefully I try to just keep momentum well.
So just last year I went to Byron and just missed the cut at the PGA Championship, so just I want to just keep momentum well this year. So played well first round; I'm very happy now.
Q. Talk a little bit about your round; you were a little bit up and down all day, but you got that last birdie on what is the fifth hole today. Tell us about that birdie.
K.H. LEE: Yes, tee shot is very well. Just little think about 3-wood or go for it or lay up, but I don't want to first round crazy things, so I lay up, and good wedge shot, maybe seven feet, make birdie. That made me very happy.
Last hole feels very comfortable and feels good over there.
Q. Sometimes after a win a lot of players are exhausted emotionally and physically and all that, but it looks like you came with new energy. Where do you find that energy?
K.H. LEE: Honestly, I'm with a family, same family with my mother and my wife, my baby. Always I'm charging every night with my young lady. So I see the baby and all the time with her, so I'm charging energy every night.
Q. Your mindset this week is similar to last week or are you under pressure by the fact that this is a major?
K.H. LEE: Just I try new challenging. Just I try to keep momentum. I mean, I want to always play well every week, but just I want to say like last week great week, and it just keep momentum this week. Hopefully good whole week up until Sunday.
