Quick Quotes
Q. Second round 67, must feel great having all the home fans around?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yeah, there's something about playing in Great Britain and having all the fans out supporting you. British crowds, they love golf. It's up there in the top sports in the country and there's a different vibe when you get the fans out there.
So it's fantastic to hit shots and hear the collapse, and obviously behind the TV group of Danny and Lee, the host, and we have a bit of that crowd as well, really good feeling and really cool.
Q. How is the course playing, obviously compared to last year, touch wood, a lot better weather this weekend?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Yes, I came down two weeks ago and it was rock hard and was thinking it was going to be some test. Obviously we had the rain on Sunday and it softened out a bit. This morning I got caught out on a chip on 11, hit in the fairway bunker just short of the green and thought the greens are still going to be receptive and I pitched it in there quite firm.
So the greens are actually firmed up a bit overnight. Yeah, it will be an interesting week and if we can get a bit more dry weather, it will firm up and speed up and it will be good fun.
Q. Ever since your win at the Porsche European Open, you've come to every single event a lot more settled, more comfortable, do you feel like you don't have to show anything or prove thinking? That's how it feels on the outside?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: I think you get respect from fellow players and you just settle down a little bit. Still jumpy. Still want to make cuts every week and never miss a cut. It just gives you every confidence that you belong here and you're not just here for the short haul. It just gives you a calmness insides.
Q. The tees are going to move up on 10. Are you going for that green?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: First shot of the day, you know, come on, there's stupidity and there's -- yeah, but I still wanted to do it. We laid up. Hit a good wedge shot in there and just missed the putt. But if that tee goes up, the pin's got to be in the right position because if they put the pin on the tight right, it's not so much the tee anymore because of the length. It's more if you put the pin down the right and you miss it right, you've got no shot. So it's all about pin placement on 10.
Q. Can you be influenced by the crowds?
MARCUS ARMITAGE: Well, I don't know, I can be influenced anywhere. Yeah, we'll see.
