Q. Hannah Green, fantastic round of golf today as well as yesterday. Hasn't been easy out there, but you've been really consistent for two rounds. What's been the key for you in terms of getting it done these two rounds?

HANNAH GREEN: I had a lot of close wedge shots today which is nice, because I feel like that hasn't really been the strongest part of my game as of late.

Started with three birdies and the longest putt I had was five feet, so that's always nice. But made a couple errors coming in. Kind of got a little bit gusty and tricky with the wind, trying to figure out the correct club and shots.

So hopefully I can keep as many bogeys off the scorecard and keep making birdies. I think there will be some low scores.

Q. (Wind interference.)

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I mean, I would like to say that I do, but my two wins that I have had on tour I've actually missed the cut both weeks prior.

I mean, it is nice that I have had a good week last week, and I'm actually going home back to Australia on Sunday, so I'm in a really good headspace at the moment.

Hopefully that can get me across the line.

Q. Here with Hannah Green. Stellar 5-under 66 today in the afternoon wave here on Friday at the Palos Verdes Championship. Got off to a hot start. Just walk me through the front nine.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, so I started on the 1st and hit my wedge shot to like maybe four feet; made that.

The next hole hit it to five feet; made that.

Next one I hit it to two feet.

So it was a really nice start. I feel like as soon as you have wedge in your hand you want to make a birdie, and managed to get another couple birdies coming in on the front nine.

I knew the back nine was going to be quite difficult with the wind picking up and getting a little bit gusty.

So, yeah, super happy with the 5-under round this afternoon.

Q. I mean, it's kind of a familiar feel or has to be out there. I'm assuming the kikuyu grass feels like home. Does that give you an advantage?

HANNAH GREEN: No. I mean, it is nice that I played on it before. I feel like some girls could kind of get a little bit tricked by it because I think sometimes when you're kind of into the grain the club kind of gets stuck a little bit more, and then when you're downgrain you almost hit it a bit further.

So I think it's nice that I've grown up on that before. It definitely helps as well with chip shots as it can be a little bit grabby and grainy. Yeah, it's nice that I have that advantage I guess.

Q. You've been playing some good golf this year. Had a solo second last week at DIO Implant LA Open.

HANNAH GREEN: Uh-huh.

Q. Then a couple Top 10s. What has been the key for you this season to playing that good golf plus the win in Australia?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I feel like I've been hitting the ball really good. Been hitting a lot more greens, which is nice.

But I feel like even my shots have been a lot closer, which is always helpful. I feel like the difference between me having a good week and a bad week is putting, which is pretty much everyone in the field I would say.

But this week I feel like I've hit it a lot closer than I did last week. And, I mean, the golf course is still different. Like scoring is very different.

I think you can go a little bit lower here than you can at Wilshire, but I'm just hoping that I can keep as many bogeys off the card and keep making birdies.

Q. It's been a windy, kind of cold week here, but it's still pretty short golf course than what we're used to. Has that helped you at all? I know you said you had a lot of wedges in.

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I mean, I think it does. Everyone has to know where to land it. So like even though we have a wedge shot you're not necessarily landing it straight at the pin. You kind of have to still pick your numbers and try and hit that target.

So, I mean, I would rather probably hit some longer irons in there, but I feel like because my wedge game is good at the moment I like having the wedges in.

Q. How have you found about the poana this week? I know last week putting on Wilshire it's a little bit different style of green, even though there is some poana in that green. This week it's cold, it's wet; poana gets bumpy in the afternoon?

HANNAH GREEN: Yes.

Q. How have you found it?

HANNAH GREEN: This afternoon it did get pretty bumpy. I was pretty lucky that I think the putts that I gave myself for par, you know, they weren't too long.

I think my last putt did have a few bumps, but, I mean, you kind of expect it when you're playing in the afternoon.

So I think just staying patient and making sure I don't give myself too many short putts for par, where sometimes you can hit a great putt and it not go in.

So that's the plan: Just hit as many fairways and greens as possible and give myself two-putt and hopefully some more one putts.

Q. Big news in the Australian golf space with the Aussie Open returning to the LPGA schedule and also being played on the same golf course with the equal amount of purse money. Tell me about that. How exciting is that for you with your Australian heritage?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I always love Oz Open. I've had some of my best results there.

To not have played the last couple years has been really sad, because I feel like golf as a sport in Australia has thrived. Be really nice to play in front of people.

The sand belt courses are amazing. I'm so excited to see Victoria and Kingston Heath and play them in probably the toughest I'll ever play them.

Melbourne always great with sporting events and I'm sure we'll get a lot of people out there. I'm excited to have a home crowd.

Q. As the first woman to every win a co-ed 72-hole event, what does it mean to have equal purse money with the men?

HANNAH GREEN: It's huge. I think it's going to elevate both championships, and I think that's why they've decided to do it.

We've had great success with the Vic Open and even the WPGA Championship that they had earlier this year in January. It worked, so I think it's great.

Hopefully more countries decided to that, too.

Q. Back here to PV. Heading into the weekend with a three-shot lead, how much confidence will you carry from these first two days and playing such solid golf into Saturday and Sunday?

HANNAH GREEN: Yeah, I feel like I've hit some bad shots out there. I don't feel like I played my best golf. I definitely have played well, if that makes sense.

But I'm excited to see what the weekend brings. I think they're going to maybe change the course setup, maybe make things a bit more drivable. It'll be good. I'm excited.

Always nice to play in the last group and playing last weekend, I think that helps as well.
