Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Inbee Park. Finished 7-under overall here at the DIO Implant LA Open. How satisfied are you with that effort, or were you looking for a little bit more?
INBEE PARK: Yeah, I mean, I think I've had some opportunities out there today, but greens are just really tough out there. I wasn't able to make too many putts today, but I was able to get good up and down -- few good up and downs.
So happy with the round. It was steady but it was definitely tricky out there.
Q. What were some of the highlights? I know you had three birdies on the card, but sounds like an up and down day. What were some of the ups and downs?
INBEE PARK: You know, like the par save putts, like last hole. Or couple of good birdie putts I've made. I've definitely left some opportunities out there as well.
I think it's just an up and down day. Wanted to make a move but I think wasn't able to do it today.
Q. Still Top 5.
INBEE PARK: Uh-huh.
Q. As we head into the rest of the season, starting to get into the major season. What are your expectations for yourself? I know your goal is to win a major this year.
INBEE PARK: Yeah, I'm really excited that summer season is coming and my game is in -- I think it's going into the good shape where I want to be.
So happy with how I am preparing for this season. Yeah, I'm satisfied with today's finish as well.
Q. When you're trying to chase down someone like you were today, do you have to be a little more aggressive than you like to be, or did you just kind of play it by ear?
INBEE PARK: You know, I think it's really depending on the golf course, where you can be aggressive or you can't be aggressive. This type of golf course you just can't be too aggressive. When you're aggressive there is like -- it's just like a train of three-putts coming.
Yeah, so you got to be -- it's tricky, but there was opportunities. There was a couple of reachable par-5s or just got holes where it was playing short; you got to take advantage of those holes.
Yeah, I think it's tough when someone has a five-stroke lead and then getting off to a fast start. It's just almost impossible.
Q. You talked earlier this week that this kind of felt like home for you. We have a ton of Korean fans here. How cool does it feel to get a Top 5 result in front of a hometown crowd?
INBEE PARK: Yeah, I really love this golf course. The Wilshire Country Club is my favorite golf course. Yeah, it's just how it's played is tricky, but I really enjoy it. I really enjoy the challenge of the golf course and really suits my game. This year has played well for me as well.
