Q. All right, round of 2-under today. You're in the top 10 right now. How do you feel coming off the course?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, it was a really solid round. Made a lot of birdies out there today, saw a lot of really good putts out there.
Just hoping to keep the momentum going throughout the week.
Q. What was it like to get off to that start, or how important was it, the three birdies in the first five, just to kind of get into the round and also maybe a little nerves at home, just to get going and have a good start?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, definitely. I think the longer holes are typically at the end of each nine, so I kind of came out knowing my birdie opportunities were really kind of right off the bat, so it was really nice to get off to a really good start today.
Q. What was it like trying to manage the wind there on the back nine?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: I mean, I've seen it before, which I think was definitely an advantage today, but it got gusty out there towards the end for sure.
Q. Yeah. How was it just growing up in these conditions, knowing the lies, the grass, and having that local knowledge, even though this is one of the newer courses here on the island?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I think just being able to flight my shots a little better, just kind of being a little better at clubbing, and just kind of knowing how the ball will react on these types of greens was really helpful.
Q. On that note, how special is it in maybe was it just your third LPGA appearance this year for it to be here at the LOTTE and really close to home?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, playing in this event is so special to me. It's definitely an event that I came out to when I was growing up every year, especially since one of my close friends, Megan Khang, when she got on tour a couple years ago, came out and followed her for a couple rounds.
It's just really special to have a lot of friends and family out here supporting me as well.
Q. How cool is it to hear, like I was on one of your holes and you could hear the, Go buff and blue, things like that. How special is that for you?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: It's so special. I mean, just knowing there is a lot of people out here rooting for me means a lot.
Q. Final hole, No. 18. I think all three of you and your playing partners went in the same bunker. You had a pretty nice shot out of the bunker; finished with a birdie. What did that mean going into the next day tomorrow?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, I think every stroke is important, so it was really nice to be able to convert that up and down.
Q. Just talk about how it was kind of up and down early for you.
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, I been working on a few things with my chipping didn't quite hit a couple of chips the way I wanted to, but managed the holes pretty well and just told myself, you know, it's okay to make a mistake. Just get it back moving forward.
Q. Knowing that you're going to have to play the whole round tomorrow probably in this wind, what do you kind of do overnight to kind of get ready for it? You just take it one stroke at a time, as they say?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, probably go practice a little bit after the round, just see what I needed to work on for today and just be a little more patient tomorrow.
Q. And sometimes there is multiple local players in the field; this year it's you, right? So what is that like being the one local person?
ALLISEN CORPUZ: Yeah, I mean, it means a lot to just be representing Hawaii out here this week. Yeah, home tournament.
