Quick Quotes
Q. Collin, how difficult were those conditions out there today?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, greens were getting bouncy. This is kind of what we were seeing on Monday, but with a lot of wind and really cold.
So when you've got that type of weather and you've got that type of golf course, it's going to play tough. You make a few mistakes, and bogeys add up.
Q. How would you characterize your round?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: As mediocre as it gets. There were some really good shots and there were some really good things, and then there's some really poor just executions. You just can't make mistakes in a major on a Saturday like this.
Tomorrow I'm just going to have to go out and make a lot of birdies and hopefully see the best finish we can make.
Q. You've won a couple majors in your young career. If you can characterize how impressive what Scottie Scheffler is doing out there, especially in these couple days of tough conditions.
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, at one point it looked like he had a ten-shot lead or whatever it was, but it's getting a little tighter and some guys are creeping up. But to do what he's doing, I think he's 10, 11-under through so many holes in the third round, it's really impressive.
And to keep that up is just really good golf and it's smart golf. That's what it is, and that's what you have to do out here is just really smart golf.
Q. You played on the Ryder Cup team last year. Did you get to know him a little bit better like maybe in that team setting?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: No, because I've known Scottie. I mean, we've played Wyndham Cups, Palmer Cups, Walker Cups, Ryder Cups, we've played all these cups together.
So I've known him, and he's always been that guy that comes clutch when he needs to be. It's cool to see what he's doing. It's impressive.
Hopefully I can build up a stretch of that for myself at some point down the road.
