Quick Quotes
Q. A little disappointed about the last hole, but you fought hard today. Tell us a little bit about that.
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: It was a different day than yesterday. I didn't hit the ball great. Not off the tee, and the irons wasn't great. Made a few good up-and-downs, but overall it was a good round. For the way I hit it, I handled myself pretty good to still be in a good position.
Q. Can you tell us kind of what were the best moments today or maybe the worst moments?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: I think I could have had a good run after making birdie on 12. I hit a good tee shot on 13, then I hit a bad iron shot. It wasn't an easy place to be there on the left side, but I think I felt pretty good. Since No. 12, I think that my game start feeling a little better.
Q. So you're still young, but you have plenty of experience in Augusta. You know that you're six strokes maybe now, or five from the lead, that it doesn't make a big difference. Everything can change in the next two days?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, everything can change, especially in this place with the wind. Yeah, just trying to go out there tomorrow, have a good two days. Yeah, we'll see what happens.
Q. What's it like to play with someone you grew up idolizing, gave you a trophy just not too long ago, and to get paired with them for the first two rounds?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: It was fun. It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed playing with Tiger. Between the rounds, I was probably not thinking about it, but I know that any time I'm going to look back on these two days, it's going to look like a really special moment.
Q. Given the amount of time he was off, how well do you think he played?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: I think today he hit it way better than yesterday. He looked great. He's an amazing tee shots, some amazing iron shots. On 10 today he was amazing. So, yeah, he's still got it.
