Quick Quotes
Q. I saw you in the Latin America.
AARON JARVIS: Oh, really?
Q. It's been a long way?
AARON JARVIS: It has.
Q. Can you do like a quick recap from winning in Casa de Campo to being here and what happened this week and this process?
AARON JARVIS: Yeah, winning Latin America was a dream come true. I worked hard for that tournament. Then after that was over, my focus was just on this tournament and preparing the right way. I still had some college events that I had to play in, but I came out here and did my work. These past two days have just been amazing.
Q. What were the most impressive things for you here?
AARON JARVIS: For my game?
Q. Personally and for your game, both.
AARON JARVIS: The whole place, the people. When I first came here, the elevation change was pretty surreal. But just knowing like the history behind it and coming out here and getting a chance to play was unbelievable.
Q. Today was a lot better, right? I mean, did you feel like you calmed down a little bit? Even though the conditions were probably more difficult.
AARON JARVIS: Yeah, I mean, I played pretty solid today. A couple mistakes to start my back nine, but hit it in better spots and just had more tap-in pars today, which was nice. Had two good shots on the par-3s on the back. But I just enjoyed the whole thing. I knew that, if I was just patient and calm throughout the whole day, I know I can come out here and post a good score, and that's what I did today.
Q. Did you think it was going in on 16?
AARON JARVIS: I wish it did. I thought it was when it hit, it landed, and then the crowd was kind of amping me up. If it went in, it would have been -- I don't even know what would have happened, but it was a good shot anyways.
Q. What did you hit there?
AARON JARVIS: I hit a full 7-iron.
Q. What's next? Now what? How do you come down from this -- get ready for whatever the next step is.
AARON JARVIS: Next up is college event, ASU's event out in Arizona. We leave on Wednesday for that. So back to Vegas, back to my school and I'll do whatever I can to help us finish off the -- my first semester in a good way and focus on summer after that.
Q. Do you think you have the material to come back here and play hard again and maybe try to win one day?
AARON JARVIS: Oh, yeah.
Q. What will you have to work on for that?
AARON JARVIS: Just keep doing what I'm doing, keep playing, keep getting better each day. I think I love playing with the crowd. Just I got used to the pressure starting the week, which was really different with all the people. But throughout the whole week, kind of knew how to deal with the crowd.
So I think just going forward, keep doing what I can do to get better each day, and then hopefully I can be back here and compete.
Q. Where will you try to qualify for the U.S. Open? Do you know yet?
AARON JARVIS: I'm going to Dallas in the middle of May. I forgot the name of the course, but I'm doing mine pretty early just so I can kind of organize my summer and my schedule a little bit.
Q. Then obviously excited about The Open at St. Andrews?
AARON JARVIS: Yeah, it's going to be pretty special. I was speaking with Zach the past two days because he's a past champion there. So just learn as much as I can from him, and the 150th in a special place. It's going to be pretty sweet.
Q. Have you ever played golf in the UK?
AARON JARVIS: I have. I played the Junior British Open there in St. Andrews on the Eden Course back in 2018.
Q. You did pretty well there.
AARON JARVIS: I did. I came in top 20, something like that. It was good.
Q. You like links golf?
AARON JARVIS: Yeah, it's just different. Any golf I like, right? It's just a different style of game, which you kind of just need to embrace. So it will be good.
Q. So what do you know already about St. Andrews?
AARON JARVIS: Just the history of the place. I've been there a couple times, so it's going to be nice to go back there.
