Quick Quotes
Q. Nice finish. Does it give you some hope, considering the conditions, that you might make the weekend?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, who knows? It's playing pretty difficult out there, so the back nine the wind just gets in the trees and funnels all around and plays tough. I don't know. We'll see.
Q. I'm sure you are used to playing in all kinds of conditions, but what have you learned about playing here as you say with the swirling winds and stuff like that?
SAM BURNS: I think it takes a lot of patience and acceptance. You can hit some really good shots and don't necessarily end up in great spots, so that's just the more you play this place, the more you learn, and that's kind of what I'm trying to do.
Q. Is there a shot or two you could describe that was totally different from the number you normally hit or wanting to hit shorter or longer?
SAM BURNS: Trying to think. Yeah, on 14 we had maybe 155, and I hit a 130 shot and almost hole high. You're playing for at times 15 to 30 that will help or hurt. Just a small area, so that always makes it difficult.
Q. Do you feel like you're learning something, though, every time you go out there?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, for sure.
Q. I'm sure you welcome the chance to do --
SAM BURNS: Yeah, absolutely. I'll hopefully get the chance this weekend.
Q. What's the -- how much will you be watching the rest of the day? Are you --
SAM BURNS: I'll check it every now and then. At this point it's out of my control, so we'll see.
Q. (Off microphone)
SAM BURNS: I will, yeah, for sure.
