Quick Quotes
Q. What was today like for you?
TOM HOGE: Yeah, it was a pretty good day. I didn't hit the ball very close to the hole, I didn't feel like, so I didn't have many chances for birdies. But it was tough out there with the wind. All in all, 1-over par, probably would have taken it for how I played. Hopefully I can come back and make some birdies going into tomorrow.
Q. What is your mindset going into tomorrow? Look at the leaderboard or just worry about yourself?
TOM HOGE: Nobody is going too crazy low with this wind right now. The course is soft. We'll see how it changes overnight into tomorrow. I like that we're going out early, some fresh greens, and hopefully the wind is a little bit down for us in the morning.
Q. Anything surprise you about playing the official round here? Anything different than you had expected?
TOM HOGE: Not a lot. We had so much rain that it really slowed the greens down a little bit, made it a little softer, a little more accessible. We needed that with the wind we had because it was pretty tough out there today. All in all, a good day.
Q. That little shift for pitch on 18, was that one of the more delicate shots you get to make?
TOM HOGE: Yeah, I had to play a little left of the hole because there was a pretty big downslope just right of it. Yeah, a couple tough pitches out there and handled them pretty well for the most part. When I was in trouble, got out of there with just bogeys. So it was good.
Q. What do you find the most challenging aspect of playing here today?
TOM HOGE: I think probably just the wind and just judging how much wind to play with uphill, downhill, because there's a lot of elevation change on top of that wind. So just judging the distance on a few shots was pretty tricky.
