Quick Quotes
Q. Tommy, there were five birdies in that round, but also there were some disappointing moments for you. Walking off 18, can you describe what's going through your mind?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Not a lot. I would have liked to have just two-putted 18. I felt like I sort of battled well after that stretch in the middle of the round. It is what it is.
It was a tough day, and I didn't play that bad. I didn't play well, but I didn't play as bad as the score suggested. I mean, I three-putted 10, didn't feel like I missed a shot down the hole. Then 11, I hit a decent tee shot to a low cut around the trees, didn't cut it enough, and then make 7 from not really doing anything wrong.
Came back all right. You know, it's 3-over. It's not very good. I'll try and do better tomorrow.
Q. So you're saying that you played well. Would there be anything that you would do differently or you just take the same game in again tomorrow?
TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Well, I'd like to play better. Well, I mean, I made five birdies, so I was obviously doing something half decent. It's just I made a triple bogey that was pitched a yard off the green. If that pitch is a yard right, that's a par, so that's three shots better. You know, a couple of putts.
I mean, you could go over it all day really, but I obviously need to do better. That's what I'll try and do. I'll do a bit of practice this afternoon and then go home and start again tomorrow. It was a tough day, and if I'd have two-putted the last, I would be less disappointed just because it felt like I showed -- it felt like I was very present, to be honest with you, even when it was sliding downhill at a very fast rate. I felt like I sort of stuck with it.
Yeah, so that's like, that's disappointing, but we'll go again tomorrow.
