Quick Quotes
Q. How do you contain the nerves as it gets closer?
MARC LEISHMAN: I think I'm pretty lucky. I'm not really a nervous person, so I just enjoy the week. Especially the lead-up to it, the practice rounds. Obviously, you have work to do, but, yeah, lucky I'm not a nervous person. I don't have to deal with that.
Q. How nice is it having the six Aussies?
MARC LEISHMAN: It's good. The guys have been playing really well. Just had a practice round with Cam Smith and Cam Davis and a few other boys are in as well. It's good to have a few familiar faces. Obviously, Scotty is back again. Hopefully we can make another run of it, one of us.
Q. The Tiger factor, a good chance he is going to play. What does that mean to you?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, it's good. Any tournament that he is in, he brings a lot to it. Not that this needs any extra, but a Masters with Tiger is always a good one. If you do happen to win it, it's nice if he is in the field, and he is always hard to beat?
Q. With everything that your family has been through, how much do you have a perspective on golf now and use that, I guess, as a mindset going into tournaments?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, definitely. Seven years ago now. Seven years ago this week, so this is a pretty special week every year to be back here and the par three tournament. It's always a good one.
It did bring things into perspective, and I think that helps with the nervous factor that you asked about before. If you do play well, it's awesome. If you don't play well, it's not like you're going to be shot at the end of the day or anything, hopefully, so it's just golf, but it's obviously a golf tournament that I really want to win.
Q. You seem like someone who has a broader perspective from that. Did you have that before?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, I think I've always had a pretty good perspective, and I think when you go through something like that, it makes it better possibly.
It's just nice knowing that golf is not life and death, and we've lived life and death, and it's not fun, and a bad day on the golf course is also not fun, but you can go home to your wife and kids, and that makes it pretty special.
Q. The lawn, how does yours compare to what we're seeing here?
MARC LEISHMAN: I actually seeded it with the same grass, so it's somewhat comparable. A little different, but it gives me something to do on my off weeks.
Q. Are you a perfectionist in all parts of your life, or just the lawn and the golf, I guess?
MARC LEISHMAN: Probably lawn and golf, yeah. I wouldn't say I'm a perfectionist in too many other things, but just the things that I enjoy.
Q. And the beer, is that right? You have the beer?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, got the beer in Australia. Leishman Lager there and got the brew here in America. It's going well. It's a hobby. A fun one at that. I think in Australia if I do happen to win, I think it's free beer for all the places that do stock it.
Q. Give them a plug.
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah.
Q. The par three, your family will be here for that, and you'll be playing that?
MARC LEISHMAN: Playing that tomorrow at 1:00 with Cam and Scotty. It will be a fun day, and hopefully the weather holds out, and we can get out there and make some noise and hopefully a couple of hole in ones.
Q. All the best, mate. Thanks for talking to us. Appreciate it.
