Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Brooke Seay, our low amateur of the week here at The Chevron Championship. What does that accolade mean to you? That's a big deal at a major.
BROOKE SEAY: Yeah, it's just awesome to be here and play with the pros. I think I was less focused on that in particular and just trying to make the cut and do the best I could.
So it's awesome.
Q. How excited were you to make the cut? You were the only am to make the cut this year.
BROOKE SEAY: I was really excited. Playing on the weekend at major is an unmatched experience, especially out here with all the crowds. On 17, 18 the energy is so fun.
So I was really excited. That was my main goal. And I played really well on Friday with the 2-under to get there, so, yeah, I was really excited.
Q. What does this kind of experience mean to you as a player that I'm sure has some professional aspirations?
BROOKE SEAY: Yeah, it's been really cool. I mean, I played a professional event couple -- or few years ago, but it's been a while, and now I'm kind of closer to that point where I'm considering what to do next.
It's been really cool to talk to the pros out here and play and just see what tour life would be like. And also just to get the experience and play on a tough course like this and play against the best players in the world.
So I think it's awesome.
Q. Is there any one particular experience with any of those pros that sticks out the most?
BROOKE SEAY: I think I played with So Yeon Ryu a few days ago in practice, and it was really interesting talking to her because she wasn't sure if she wanted to go pro at first.
That was really interesting to me because I think a lot of people just know from a young age that's what they want to do and are really set on that.
So it was interesting to hear her talk about the decision to go. She just kind of tried it and she said, you know, you just know when you try it. It's hard to know what an experience is going to be like until you get there.
I thought that was interesting.
Q. Have your dad on the bag this week. How much more special does that make an experience like you had at The Chevron Championship?
BROOKE SEAY: Yeah, it's really cool. My dad has been coaching me for a long time. He was there since I first started golf and so he knows my game really well.
And this is really cool this year, my family, being from San Diego my brother came out here today, my grandma and mom are here, so it's been really cool.
Q. Cool familiar affair.
BROOKE SEAY: Yeah.
Q. Let's be honest, Stanford under your hat; I'm sure there are thoughts of getting back to practice, getting back to the team life. How do you use this experience to propel you through the rest of your junior year and junior in college?
BROOKE SEAY: Yeah, we're approaching post-season, so I think this has been a great experience to just get me in the right mindset for the rest of the golf season.
And, yeah, I think we all have a lot of energy going into spring. It's going to be busy, but I think we're all really focused and we have really good energy on the team, so, yeah, should be fun.
