Quick Quotes
Q. So I know it wasn't the day you were looking for, but still smiling, which love to see.
ANNIE PARK: Yeah.
Q. Still in contention heading into tomorrow. I know score is kind of low right now, but how are you feeling after today?
ANNIE PARK: Yeah, I think I'm pretty good. I think I was most worried about my putting and my putting was pretty solid today, so going into tomorrow I'm feeling pretty good.
I think with just new clubs and just kind of a new -- going back to my old swing but kind of reverting back to a new technique, so still getting used to it.
I'm right around the corner and feel pretty good.
Q. Tell me about the new putter. You mentioned that earlier in the week and I honestly have forgotten to ask you.
ANNIE PARK: Yeah. Yeah, I put it in like two weeks ago and feel pretty good about it. I love how it rolls and how it feels.
So, yeah.
Q. You've said that Scotty this week has been kind of keep you calm out there with his dad jokes. Is there one dad joke that stands out that's appropriate?
ANNIE PARK: I honestly don't think any of them are appropriate. It should not -- yeah, it should not be out there to be honest.
Q. Good enough. Good enough. We've talked about some of the things you did last year to kind of help yourself this year. You're saying you're finally having fun on the golf course.
ANNIE PARK: Uh-huh.
Q. When did that switch flip for you? I know you talked about it last week, but this week has it validated all the work you did to get here?
ANNIE PARK: Uh-huh, honestly it's not a switch for me. It's I think it was a long journey. I had to go through the downs for me to start riding up the -- climbing up the ups.
But it was long and it was hard and I'm still trying every day. I don't think it was more of a switch, but more so like just changing my mentality out there.
Yeah, just trying to put myself first.
Q. You're having quite of an up so far at the year's first major. Heading into tomorrow, going to be chasing. Are you a player that kind of attacks more on the final day, or just kind of lay back?
ANNIE PARK: I think I'm pretty aggressive. Overall my personality is pretty laid back, but I definitely have a different side to me.
So just going to just attack pins tomorrow. It's all or nothing, so...
Q. I like that. I like the juxtaposition. Final walk here in the desert, final loop. What are some of the emotions heading into Sunday?
ANNIE PARK: Yeah, honestly it's a lot of emotions out there. You know, we're going to be sad to see the Poppie Pond, and it was a long tradition and we had so many legends jump into that pond.
Really sad about that, and I think that's a huge bummer that it's going to be maybe the last year to see someone jump in the pond. So, yeah, I think that's kind of like my own little bummed about.
But it's the last year here, but I'm really excited that it's going to be in Houston next year. I live in Dallas so it's a very short trip for me. So, yeah.
Q. Last question: You mentioned figuring out how to have fun on the golf course again. How much fun has this week been for you?
ANNIE PARK: It's been a lot of fun. Even though it was the results that I wanted, but it was the process that I wanted. That's exactly what I needed out there. I gave it a 100% out there.
I had some tough breaks and that's nothing that I can control, but I had some -- I executed a lot of shots that I was very happy about, so...
