Q. Do you remember when you first heard about this event? You were pretty young.

MEJA ORTENGREN: I think I heard it when it was announced in 2019.

Q. 2019? You would have been 13?

MEJA ORTENGREN: 13, yeah.

Q. What did you think when you heard about it?

MEJA ORTENGREN: I was just so happy that women could be able to play this course, and I was hoping that I would one day play this course.

Q. As time went on, was it a bigger and bigger goal for you?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah, very much.

MEJA ORTENGREN: I would say --

MEJA ORTENGREN: I would say it was ranked the highest. It's just amazing to play this course, and this is the biggest tournament yet for me, so --

Q. The biggest what?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Tournament yet for me.

Q. It ranked the highest because it's this place?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah. And it's such a good field with players. It was, yeah, fun.

Q. Has it lived up to your expectations?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah. Above them.

Q. Why so? What makes it -- how did it exceed your expectations?

MEJA ORTENGREN: It's just so well-organized, and everything is just great, and the course is amazing. Yeah, everything has been wonderful.

Q. It helps to play well?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah, it does. (Laughing).

Q. Do you think that this is how most of women your age think about this place is that it's an important event for women's golf?

MEJA ORTENGREN: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I think we all watch this like most growing up, so it's amazing to be here and have so many great young females playing together.
