Quick Quotes
Q. Tell us how was it, today your first time playing at Augusta National.
HAILEY BORJA: It was unbelievable. It's so great. I mean, the course is obviously in such a great shape and so it was just so great to be out there and just like basically take it all in.
Yeah.
Q. Was there like a particular place or hole or particular moment you had today out there?
HAILEY BORJA: I would say Amen Corner on 12. I think of that just super special. Just like hitting that green in general is really hard, so for me to hit the green today felt really great.
Q. That's so cool. So tell us a little bit about your Hispanic family. Your mother is Mexican and your father, too. How does your Hispanic traditions influence your life?
HAILEY BORJA: I always really look back into my culture and things like that, and I'm really grateful for where I am today because of it.
Like my mom had to work -- both my parents had to work a lot to get to where they are now, and obviously they wanted the best life for me.
So it was just -- I'm really grateful to be where I'm at.
Q. And tell us a little bit also Christian on your bag. He's also Mexican. How did you guys know each other?
HAILEY BORJA: So my aunt, my nina back from where my mom is from, she actually knows Christian, and so she introduced us both.
After that we became really good friends we later found out that my parents actually got married at his grandma's hotel, and we didn't even know about it until they talked about it.
So kind of like a long history back there. But, yeah.
Q. What a coincidence. How did you decide to bring him along and to have him with you on the bag?
HAILEY BORJA: Yeah, he actually caddied for me at the USGA Women's Am and I did really good, so I thought this was a good opportunity to bring him here as well.
It was a dream come true for him to also see Augusta, and I think he also shed a few tears when he came on here. Yeah.
