NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Today was much better than yesterday. I hit a lot better shots today than I did yesterday. I had more chances today.

So it's going in the right direction.

Q. You opened up with three birdies on the front nine, which was No. 10, and then three on the second nine. Any of those particularly stand out or what was the strengths of your game today?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I hit more fairways today, which makes it a little easier on this course. There wasn't any specific strength today I would say. I did still hit some bad shots out there, but that's golf.

I made some good putts here and there, so that gave me a couple birdies.

Q. You won two times ago that you played, in Thailand; in the playoff last week; now a couple strokes off the lead this week. What has been the key to your success over the last three weeks and what keeps you coming in here for post-round interviews?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Yeah, well I'm just staying patient and trusting my game. I was very frustrated after my round yesterday. I didn't hit the ball good at all yesterday. I really fought around. Only hit eight greens yesterday.

So just really that I grinded it out yesterday and ended up getting it to minus-1, and then I had some time on the range.

As along as I think I can play good, then I believe it.

Q. You mentioned just the eight greens yesterday, and then brought that up to 15 today. What did you work on yesterday that really seemed to help?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, sometimes I have a tendency, my hips turn a little too fast, so I had to slow that down a little bit, and that made it a lot easier to hit golf shots.

Q. Can you take us through after Sunday's final round, did you drive here? What was the mental breakdown of how everything transpired?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Yeah, obviously I was very disappointed after Sunday. But, yeah, we drove here and we tried to take it as a positive that I was still in the playoff and I was still playing very good golf.

But obviously it was disappointing. So this week I've just been trying to get back to finding some confidence, and, yeah.

Q. When did you and your fiancée meet? Tell us a little bit about your story?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: When we met?

Q. Yeah.

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Oh, that's almost eight years ago. He became the teaching pro where I play golf in the club in Denmark, so we met there.

Then yeah he's been with me ever since on the course almost. On and off, yeah.

Q. Had you had other teachers, instructors?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Yeah, I do have another teacher, the national coach. I worked with him since I was 15, 16 or something.

Q. So do they work together then?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: They do. Nicki helps me mostly on the weeks when we're out on tour, and then David, who is my other coach, he has the overview of what's going to happen with the swing on long times, and then Nicki helps me getting there every week kind of.

Q. Just curious, we've talked a lot about the win. How long has it taken you, do you feel, to learn patience and learn, Hey, I can give myself some grace out there when I only hit eight greens and know I can recover and I'm good enough to do that?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: How long it took?

Q. Yeah, when did that resonate with you?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, I do think being in contention at the British, not only hitting good shots, realized that I don't have to -- you don't win with only hitting good shots. You're going to hit some bad shots out there.

I think from the British Open forward I just realized that there is going to be bad shots out there and you just got to accept that.

Q. You played really well here last year. What you did you take away from that experience?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Well, I really love this place. I love the greens. They're so true. Usually I putt good when the greens are like that.

And, yeah, finished third last year. It was very good. It was my best major result at that time; still is.

So, yeah, gives you a little confidence knowing you can play this course well.

Q. Did that have any lasting impact over your season after starting the year so well with that good of a start in a major championship?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Last year?

Q. Uh-huh.

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: Yeah, that gave me confidence at that time because that was a very good finish for me at the time. It would still be good today. Sound like it not is.

But it was one of my best results ever having that third place, so it obviously gave me a lot of confidence after that as well.

Q. Do you feel like there was anything specific you learned about the course last year that's helping you this week?

NANNA KOERSTZ MADSEN: I just like the greens and I like that if you don't hit the fairways you're going to get a little trouble. You got to play a little safe after -- I mean, after you're in the rough you just got to get it back into play.
